We have formal relationships with several groups and are developing working relationships with more groups along the way.
LA21 Partners
- Woking Community Furniture Project Accepts old furniture and electrical goods (even if not working), repairs them and sells again. Sited in Maybury, the project is open four days a week, collects items by appointment and sells them at very reasonable prices to any member of the public.
- Woking Cycle Users Group Promote opportunities for cycling locally, and campaign for improved facilities for cyclists in the Borough.
- Woking Fairtrade Action Network. Woking achieved fair trade town status in Oct 2005 and continues to promote wider use of fair trade products.
- Surrey Wildlife Trust are Woking LA21′s main partner in the Gardening For Life Initiative, and undertake a range of work to benefit wildlife in the County.
- Natural England has set up the Forum for Gardening with Wildlife in Mind of which LA21 is a member and has signed its ‘Let Our Gardens Live’ manifesto.
- RecycleWoking (formerly known as Freecycle)now have nearly 3000 members after their first full year of operation. They do a stirling job of keeping waste out of landfill for a longer period of time, and saving landfill costs to boot.

- Energy Centre for Sustainable Communities, who run frequent events to promote energy efficiency and domestic renewable energy installations in Woking.
- Woking Chamber of Trade and Commerce Chartered Institute of Building.
- Woking News and Mail, where we regularly advise on the broader aspects of ‘green issues’.
